Privacy Policy

Please be advised the clinic treats all personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and is required to comply with the Australian Privacy Principles contained in the act.
The Commonwealth’s Privacy Act 1988 regulates how personal information is handled by an organisation. The Privacy Act includes thirteen Australian Privacy Principles setting out the standards, rights and obligations for the handling, holding, use, accessing and correction of personal information.

Third Parties:

Your personal information will not be given to any third party or released to any unauthorised person without your prior knowledge and consent (unless authorised by law).
Patient Files:
Your information is kept confidential and can only be accessed by the treating chiropractor, other chiropractors within the clinic and senior staff with limited access. These files must be kept by us for a minimum for 7 years before they can be destroyed.

Payment Policy
Lotus Chiropractic Care requires all patients to follow our “pay on the day” policy.
Medicare EPC (care plan) and DVA claims will be made by Lotus Chiropractic Care directly to the Department of Medicare and Veterans Affairs. In the case where the care plan or DVA referral is rejected, the patient will be required to pay for the sessions they have already attended directly to Lotus Chiropractic Care.
Motor Vehicle and Workers Compensation must have a valid GP referral AND approval from the insurance company. Without the correct documents you will be required to pay on the day and claim back through your insurance. With the correct documents we will make the claim on your behalf.

Cancellation Policy
Late cancellations, late reschedules and missed appointments will incur a $30 fee as this time had been allocated to you (late being within 12 hours of the booked appointment).
If you are running late and if our schedule will allow, we may be able to accommodate a partial or full appointment.
If your Chiropractor is running late, due to unforeseen circumstances, you will still be seen for your full scheduled appointment where possible.

Remember Your Appointment
It is your responsibility to remember your appointments. All missed appointments will be charged under the cancellation policy. Lotus Chiropratic Care sends courtesy SMS reminders the day before your appointments. Whether you receive the reminder or not, the above cancellation policy applies.
